Today's economy relies heavily on fossil fuels, i.e. underground energy sources, to produce energy. While the third industrial revolution takes place, transforming the energy supply from polluting and climate-changing to sustainable and renewable, we need to find alternatives that reduce energy consumption as much as possible.
This challenge also applies to the world of cosmetics, where many formulations are produced using processes that involve heating up reactors and therefore leading to high energy consumption, which shows up in the production cost. However, these thermal processes are not absolutely essential and through careful research and a precise choice of substances to be included in the product, formulations at room temperature become possible.
This challenge has been tackled in MAYCOS' R&D laboratories, resulting in the successful development of SYN HYDRO-CREAM.
SYN HYDRO-CREAM is a naturally derived emulsifying base that can be used to formulate O/W creams. It has been specifically designed to adapt to different production conditions, especially cold-process formulation. Thanks to this feature, using SYN HYDRO-CREAM as a emulsifying base makes the formation of cold-process emulsions not only possible, but fast and easy, without compromising any of the texture performance required by these types of formulations.
Simply add all the components at once (lipid phase, hydrophilic phase, preservatives, vitamins, active ingredients, etc....) and homogenise, first gently and then more firmly, until a fine emulsion is formed. The recommended application quantity varies from 10% to 15% depending on the desired consistency. It can be used in all cosmetic emulsions, from day or night creams to body lotions, cleansing milks, etc....
Furthermore, the natural and plant based origin of the ingredients in SYN HYDRO-CREAM confer Ecocert Cosmos certification on the product, so that it can be used in Ecocert Cosmos formulations.
