OUR FORMULATIONS
MAYCOS aims to guide the customer throughout the entire formulation process, enabling the development of innovative cosmetics that are always up to date with the latest market trends, particularly when it comes to eco-friendly formulation processes. This way informed and discerning end consumers can rely on products that achieve the highest level of naturalness without compromising on performance.
The various formulations and finished products presented in this section come to life in our R&D laboratories, driven by this very spirit, and tangibly demonstrate the success and performance of MAYCOS products. These formulations are developed through the extensive hands-on experience of our R&D team, who work alongside the customer in creating their product. By presenting our formulation proposals, we initiate a concrete dialogue with the customer, which they can use as examples, inspiration, or reference points, ultimately shaping them into their own idea of the final product. The following are the categories of cosmetics formulated with MAYCOS products.
BODY CLEANSERS
The lipidic structure and organization of the stratum corneum can be easily disrupted by surfactants, solubilizers, foaming agents, and other additives. Therefore, in body cleansing, it is important to balance the ability to remove dirt with the maintenance and reinforcement of the skin's natural hydro-lipidic balance. Detergents formulated with MAYCOS products effortlessly meet this requirement. In fact, being composed of natural ingredients such as lipophilic amino acids which are biochemically similar to the tissue, they are mild, gentle, and safe, as well as biodegradable.
SHAMPOO
Shampoos are applied to a specific area of the body: the scalp, which has a high density of sebaceous glands and thus sebum, while the hair fiber tends to have less sebum. The surfactants used in shampoos must be able to balance cleansing power and protective capabilities directed towards the hair fiber, as well as adapt to the hair type. The substances in the formulations and MAYCOS products are carefully selected to meet these trichological needs. Furthermore, they possess high foaming and sensory properties, resulting in natural, easy-to-comb, and shiny hair.
LIQUID SOAPS
Liquid soaps are a particular type of cosmetic cleanser that intersects with all other types of cleansers and is distinguished by the fluidity of the resulting products. Ranging from hand application to intimate areas, liquid soaps cover a wide range of different formulations. This section presents various solutions to specific issues related to this type of formulation, including consistency and viscosity, the amount of active cleansing substance, as well as the biodegradability and dermatological compatibility of the finished product.
FACIAL CLEANSING
Facial cleansing can involve skincare or beard care products, as well as makeup removers. Cleansing-focused formulations have low concentrations of surfactants and a neutral tear pH. On the other hand, makeup removers or micellar water solutions need to possess good solvation capacity. These products must be extremely gentle, a characteristic that applies to both the proposed formulations and MAYCOS products, which use natural substances. The characteristics of the proposed formulations align with the dermatological needs of the face, while also exhibiting great adaptability to the customer's preferences in terms of viscosity, appearance, fragrance, and texture.
ANHYDROUS COSMETICS
The proposed formulations in anhydrous cosmetics focus on the field of cleansing. With the transition to the green economy, there is a need to reduce water consumption and usage. Therefore, the anhydrous formulations presented together with MAYCOS products aim to achieve equal or better performance compared to analogous water-based formulations. Furthermore, they compete with currently used petrochemical products, boasting their natural origin. The high oleic content of these formulations is derived from natural products that are biochemically similar to organic tissue, resulting in mild, gentle, and safe formulations that are also biodegradable.
CREAMS
The formulations presented in this section highlight the naturalness of MAYCOS emulsifiers and utilize their biochemical characteristics to closely resemble the quality and quantity of lipids present in the skin, contributing to maintaining the skin's moisture balance. Another technological aspect boasted by these formulations is the process used to generate the emulsion. In some of the presented formulations, this process can be carried out at room temperature, in addition to the traditional heat method. These predetermined objectives coexist seamlessly with excellent competitive texture characteristics: lightweight, silky, and with a short playtime.
